Dr. Berke is the founder and former director of the Arbours Crisis Centre and a writer and lecturer.

His areas of interest include psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, psychosis, therapeutic communities, transpersonal psychology and treating the 'untreatable'. Other major areas of interest includes Judaism, and the Jewish mystical tradition: Kabbalah and Chassidism.
